Dear Jacob,

This is your inner witness writing to you. My name is also Jacob. I live inside of your brain. Imagine a dim light, but it’s constantly glowing. That’s me. Hey there.

Okay, so why am I writing you and what is my purpose for this? Well, I’m here to tell you that it’s time to make some changes. These changes will be difficult, but it’s going to be what’s best for you. How do I know? BECAUSE I LIVE INSIDE OF YOUR BRAIN, DUDE. Listen up. You’ve been chasing things your entire life. While that’s great, you’ve never had a solid plan laid out for any of it. You just start fucking running. It’s taken me 34 years to finally intervene and tell you TO SLOW THE HELL DOWN. I’m here to help you lead a more comfortable life for yourself. You stress about things that are so silly. Things you have no control over. Things that eat away at you. THINGS YOU’VE YET TO FACE HEAD ON IN REALITY. So, here I am. It’s time to stop talking. Stop the inner dialogue with yourself. Let’s make this shit happen, okay?

You constantly tell yourself that you don’t know what you want. That you aren’t sure if you’ll be able to live the life that you daydream about. The life that takes hard work, but leads to comfort, less stress, less drama, LESS INNER DIALOGUE. Hey, inner dialogue is great, but goddamn, man. You’ve beaten yourself up for too long. I’m here to block your self punches now.

This isn’t going to be scary. This is going to be absolutely FRIGHTENING. Because that’s what it takes to change your life. It’s not going to be handed to you. It’s not going to fall into your lap. You have to make an effort to create your own life of happiness, comfort, and fulfillment. The truth is, yeah, you beat yourself up, but you also make the assumption that others think you’re unworthy of good things, as well. In reality, you have so many, SO MANY PEOPLE that believe in you and have told you numerous times to believe in yourself, to make these changes, to finally get those things that you deserve.

You tell yourself all of the time that you don’t work very hard. And, you know what? You’re right. You work hard at your craft. You work hard on the creative side of things. But you suck at the business side. It’s not that you even suck at it. You fear it. You don’t feel deserving of the success that could potentially come with the work. Fuck that shit, dude. You deserve it, just as anyone else does.

We’re all worthy of love.
We’re all worthy of happiness.
We’re all worthy of success.
We’re all worthy of A GOOD LIFE.

Jacob, please. Get after it. Go after it harder than you ever have before. Rid your mind of the negative thoughts. The negative talk. Rid your life of people that bring you down. Rid your life of material things that bring you down.

It’s time for a new beginning, my friend. I’m here in the passenger seat ready to cheer you on.

Start the car. Let’s fucking go.

Your Inner Witness

This benefitted me and I’m sure it will others. I know that wasn’t your intention. But just know it helps to know others struggle with the same insecurities and uncertainties that we all do.
You are a fucking inspiration LOAF. A shining light.
